Bright Future Adoption Foundation

About Bright Future Adoption Foundation

The Bright Future Adoption Foundation (BFAF) was established in 2005 by Anne Chambers as an outgrowth of her own experience as an adoptive parent and a desire to guide and assist others interested in adopting children.

Anne and her husband, Clifford Schwandner, Jr., adopted their daughter, Annie Chang during a visit to China in 1995. Chang means bright future in Chinese; thus, the name of the foundation. Anne also borrowed the translation in creating Bright Future Foods, LLC, which produces the Ma-Me! brand of edamame and other healthy foods. Ten percent of the after-tax profits of Bright Future Foods goes to the foundation.

In its first year of operation, the foundation awarded a series of financial grants to four sets of parents, of diverse nationalities and races, which will enable them to complete the adoption process.

The foundation partners with social service agencies on a global basis to identify adoptive parents and assist in bringing orphaned children to their new homes.

The BFAF currently counts on contributions from individuals, companies and foundations for financial support in pursuing its mission.
